Prince Gaoseb Raises the Bar for Tel Aviv Heat’s Back Row

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

Namibian international back rower Prince Gaoseb has signed with the Tel Aviv Heat for the inaugural season of the Rugby Europe Super Cup, bringing hard hitting power on both attack and defense.

Prince’s physicality and hard work have made him a standout throughout his career, from schoolboy rugby at Windhoek High in Namibia, throughout the 2015 and 2016 Craven Week competitions in South Africa, as captain of Namibia at the U20 World Trophy Championship, up to representing Namibia at the 2019 World Cup in Japan. In addition, Prince has played professional club rugby with the Blue Bulls U19 and U21 teams at Currie Cup level and in the English Championship at Yorkshire Carnegie.

At over 185cm and 104 kg, Prince is sure to keep The Tel Aviv Heat opposition busy as muscle meets muscle.

An ambitious and hard working player Gaoseb sees himself as a person who loves the outdoors, welcomes challenges, and most importantly, a player who gives all of himself to his team.

Prince considers his family as his ultimate mentors and looks up to Michael Hooper as a player he likes to emulate on the field.

Prince Gaoseb on playing for the Tel Aviv Heat:

I’m privileged to be in this position and honoured to be able to represent The Tel Aviv Heat at this level of the game. I look to take this opportunity wholeheartedly and make the best of it, as well as play my heart out for the jersey and my team mates…

Kevin Musikanth -- on signing Prince Gaoseb:

"As we started the process of signing marquee players for The Tel Aviv Heat, Prince was an absolute standout case of what we needed to bring to our squad -- a hard-hitting, ball-carrying loose forward who gets stuck in during the all-important contact part of the game. I am excited to coach Prince and look forward to what he is going to bring to our team as we embark on this challenge…
